Vacancy:
Booyco Electronics is seeking applications for the Electronic Technician position, with a preference for candidates from designated groups in alignment with the Employment Equity Act, No. 55 of 1998, Booyco Electronics’ internal recruitment policy, and the company’s employment equity plans. Main Purpose of the Job:
As a team member, the electronic technician will work directly with electronic technologists, actively participating in activities such as technical documentation, non-conformance resolution, fault identification, first builds, and training production staff on novel products. As a vital bridge between production technicians and engineering, the role entails providing daily technical support for both production processes and maintenance activities, assuring seamless operations and the continued growth of our technological endeavors.

Education, Experience, and Competencies:

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• National Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of technical experience.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, FMEA documentation, and document editing
• Basic programming language experience is advantageous.
• Basic PCB design experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and resolve non-conformances in engineering.
• Assist with first builds as per requirements.
• Develop the technical scope of work documents and update them as projects progress.
• Carry out verification testing in line with the development process.
• Develop technical documentation according to the design control form.
• Verify the technical validity of existing product and service-related documents.
• Provide training to repair, production, and quality teams on new products.
• Analyze and implement improvements to current product- and service-related processes.
• Update control documents annually.
