Job Description:
Alert Engine Parts is seeking a General Worker for their Johannesburg branch. The role involves performing general warehouse duties, including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and maintaining cleanliness.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Binning:
  • Binning incoming merchandise and replenishing inventory from bulk to pick locations as per standard procedures.
  • Allocating new products with bin location numbers in the correct warehouse area.
  • Updating bins and reporting new bin locations to the superior.
  • Assisting in replenishment functions.
  • Receiving and checking incoming goods as per company standards.
• Picking:
  • Picking customer and branch orders timely to meet order cut-off times.
  • Picking from bulk locations only when stock is depleted or for bulk orders to prevent pack size breakage.
  • Following all relevant procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting in stock take procedures.
  • Performing daily housekeeping.
  • Conducting double checks to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.
  • Achieving set operational targets consistently.
• Scanner Control:
  • Issuing scanners to operators daily and booking them out on the electronic app.
  • Inspecting returned scanners for damage and booking them back into stock.
  • Reporting any damage to the supervisor.
  • Completing the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12, Literacy and Numeracy equivalent.
• At least 3 years in a warehouse or logistics environment (desirable).
• Knowledge of spares/motor/engine parts, warehouse systems, and procedures.
