Job Description:
As an Electronic Field Technician at AECI Mining, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to advanced blasting initiatives and providing expert support for electronic initiating systems. Your role involves advising clients, conducting investigations, and upgrading hardware and software at client sites. Join us in Modderfontein, Gauteng, and make an impact in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:
- Provide support for advanced types of blasts.
- Advise clients, internal personnel, or end-users on the use of electronic initiating systems.
- Conduct bad blast investigations and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Upgrade hardware and software at client sites.
- Assist the lab in identifying product issues, conduct risk assessments, and perform field trials at customer sites.
- Undergo training as part of the field testing upon completion of lab qualification.
- Provide training on electronic initiating systems.
- Engage in customer liaison regarding electronic initiating systems.
- Ensure compliance with governance and compliance policies and procedures.
- Adhere to Safety, Health, and Environment standards.
- Actively participate in R&D involving the evolution of the product.
- Work abroad for a minimum of three weeks at a time to provide training and product support.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering degree/diploma in mining engineering or electronic engineering, or a mining engineering qualification.
- 1-2 years’ experience as a field support technician.
- Explosives engineering qualification (advantageous).
- Blasting Ticket (advantageous).
- Trainers competency (advantageous).
- Technical electronics knowledge and expertise.
- Knowledge of training principles and techniques.
- Comfortable with regular presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate must be a self-starter capable of working independently, demonstrate strong communication skills, and possess precise reporting abilities to perform under pressure.
